Cam Site Token Pricing, Explained Without the Jargon
Tokens, tips, and per-minute rates can hide the real cost of a private show. Here is how to read the pricing before you spend.
By Julian Reyes, Senior Reviewer, Platforms and Pricing
Most cam sites do not price things in plain currency. They price in tokens, and every platform sets its own exchange rate. That is by design: it makes spending feel abstract. Here is how to cut through it.
Tokens are just a currency layer
A token is a prepaid credit. You buy a bundle, then spend those credits on tips, private shows, or content. The catch is that the token-to-dollar rate changes with the size of the bundle, so the sticker price of a show tells you very little on its own.
Work out the real per-minute cost
To compare two platforms fairly, convert everything back to a per-minute dollar figure:
- Find the token cost of the bundle you would realistically buy.
- Divide to get the real value of one token.
- Multiply by the per-minute token rate of a private show.
Do that on two sites and the "cheaper" one often flips. We run this math for you in every review, so the pricing ranges you see are already in real dollars.
Worked example: Jerkmate vs Exposed Webcams
In our July 2026 tests:
- Jerkmate private shows ran roughly $2.00 to $6.00 per minute depending on the model. On a mid-tier token bundle we logged about $3.40/min for a typical private session.
- Exposed Webcams came in lower: roughly $1.50 to $4.00 per minute, with about $2.10/min on the session we logged.
Same habit (10 minutes private), very different totals. That is why we publish dollar ranges on the comparison table instead of raw token counts.

Watch for the extras
- Two-way cam and spy modes usually cost more per minute.
- Tips during free chat add up faster than a metered private show.
- Subscriptions can be better value than pay-per-minute if you have a favorite creator (see Sinparty).
When subscriptions beat tokens
If you watch the same creator several times a month, a subscription model can beat pay-per-minute math. If you hop rooms or discover someone new each session, token sites like Jerkmate or Exposed usually make more sense. Match the pricing model to how you actually watch.
Bottom line
Ignore the token headline and compare per-minute dollars. Our comparison table lists estimated private-show ranges for every platform we review, last verified July 15, 2026.
